A three-judge bench has been appointed to hear a petition objecting recent impeachment of Wajir Governor Mohammed Abdi Mohammud.
Justices Lady Justice Thripsisa Cherere, Jeremy Otieno and Edward Murithi were appointed by Chief Justice Martha Koome.
The team is expected to issue further directions on Wednesday.
Five Wajir residents two weeks ago obtained court orders stopping replacement of Governor Mohammed Abdi Mohammud who was impeached by the Senate on May 17, 2021.
The directions by the Meru High Court came few hours after Deputy Governor Ahmed Muktar was sworn in as the Governor by Justice Said Chitembwe.
The process was then stopped until the case filed by the five is heard and determined.
