GSU commander killed in Kapedo by bandits.

A General Service Unit operation commander has been killed in Kapedo by suspected bandits.
The officer was killed after his car was ambushed by the suspected bandits at around Ameyan bridge.

The officer was traveling from Turkana to Nairobi when he was killed.

According to Turkana East Sub County commander Mr Edwin Ogwari the senior GSU officer was returning back to Nairobi after a fact finding mission to establish the scale of attacks in the region

The attack barely comes days after bandits attacked a village in Kapedo killed an old man and injured three others

Three Members of Parliament allegedly are now locked up in the village.

The MPs had paid visit to the victims of last week attack and were distributing food.

With heightened tension in the area locals trapped in their houses are calling for help.

Turkana South MP James Lomenen has called for thier rescue by the Government.

“Our live is danger, we need the government to rescue us from this agony” he said.

Kapedo for the past one week has been under siege. Four schools were closed last week over fears of bandit attack.
