Manchester United breaks record in draw against Arsenal at Emirates

Must read

English Premier League giants Man United on Saturday evening suffered a blow in their title charge after they were held to a barren draw by Arsenal at the Emirates.

The Red Devils remain second on the log with 41 points, three behind rivals Manchester City who still have a game in hand.

Both sides had a number of golden goal scoring chances, they were wasteful in the final third as they shared the spoils at the end of the tie.

However, despite the stalemate away from home, the result was enough to help United ink a new club record under the tutelage of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The result means United have now gone an incredible 18 Premier League matches without a defeat, surpassing that set by the 1999 Treble winners under Sir Alex Ferguson.

In the 18 matches, United have collected an impressive 13 wins and five draws – making a habit of falling back before staging fightbacks.

Interestingly, seven of the 13 wins have been secured from losing positions – a resilient spirit that has seen them emerge as title favourites.

However, with five points slipping them in what has been a testing week, United appear to have lost more ground to rivals Man City.

The Old Trafford dwellers currently sit second with 41 points, three behind Leaders City who have 44.

The Solskjaer-tutored side could drop to third should Leicester City post a favourable result when they take on Leeds United.

The Red Devils are scheduled to play three of their upcoming matches at home and will be desperate to use them to bounce back to winning ways.
