President Uhuru Kenyatta will not go anywhere even after his term expires after next year’s polls, Jubilee Party Vice Chairman David Murathe has said.
Murathe during a prime time talk show in one of the local TV stations said that President Kenyatta still has a role to play in uniting the country.
The Jubilee honcho’s statement comes barely a week after President Kenyatta while on a tour in Nairobi to popularize the BBI in Nairobi, stated that even though he will be leaving office, he aims at leaving the country in safer hands and that he won’t allowa thief to take over as his successor.
“Kenyans should know that President Uhuru Kenyatta is going nowhere come the year 2022 despite expectations that he will be ending his two terms tenure,” said Murathe.
According to Mr Murathe, Uhuru will be playing a key role in the negotiation table on who will be his successor representing his community adding that he will continue to serve as the Jubilee Party leader even after his exit.
“The president is going nowhere. He will still be part of the negotiation table. He will continue serving as the Jubilee party leader even after his exit,” said Murathe.
Murathe, a Deputy President William Ruto’s critic opines that President Kenyatta will ensure that the country gets a good leader who will champion the unity and prosperity of all Kenyans.
