A 11-member Senate Committee will probe the impeachment of Wajir Governor Mohamed Abdi Mohamud instead of the whole House.
This comes after 28 Senators voted in favour of the committee route with 14 opposing the decision to have the Wajir Governor appear before a normal committee to defend himself.
Members of Wajir County Assembly (MCAs) impeached the Governor last week over alleged gross misconduct, abuse of office and gross violation of the Constitution.
Governor Abdi was kicked out after thirty-seven MCAs voted in favour of the impeachment motion while 10 opposed his removal from office.
Senators proposed to hear the impeachment include; Johnson Sakaja, Mwangi Githiomi, Christine Zawadi, Mithika Linturi, Hargura Godana, Okongo Omugeni, Fred Outa, Agnes Muthama, Petronilla Were and Issa Juma Boy.
The 11-member Senate committee will probe the allegations behind the impeachment and prepare a report that will be presented in the Senate.
